The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) cleared the two House of Assembly Seats in Oshodi-Isolo LGA.

The party’s candidates for Oshodi-Isolo Constituency 1 and 2 seats, Otunba Stephen Kayode Ogundipe and Ladi Ajomale amassed the highest votes to be declared winner and returned elected.

As announced by the returning officer for constituency 1, Mr Abayomi Okunlowo, Ogundipe garnered 16,444 to fend off competition from others in the race, especially the candidate of the Labour Party who had the second highest vote with 6,144.

On the other hand, Ladi Ajomale, son of former APC Lagos State Chairman, Chief Henry Ajomale, amassed 19,581 votes to emerge winner of the highly competitive election.

According to the returning officer, Dr Falobi Oluwole Victor, the candidate of the Labour Party (LP) Obalofin Sheu Samuel came close with 17,644 votes to come second while Saheed Aregbe of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) came distant third with 2,899 votes.

Reacting to the victory, the chairmen of Oshodi-Isolo LGA and Isolo LCDA, Otunba Kehinde Almaroof and Olasoju Adebayo, respectively, conveyed their congratulatory messages to the duo and appreciated residents of the council areas for reaffirming their confidence in the party.

Ogundipe and Ajomale will be taking over from their fellow party men, Akeem Shokunle and Jude Idimogu, respectively, upon their swearing-in.
