The path to victory is getting more seamless for the foremost presidential candidate in the country and respected national leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as four political parties adopt him as their candidate for Saturday’s presidential poll.
The four parties are the Lagos State Chapters of National Rescue Movement (NRM), Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), Actions People’s Party (AAP), and Allied People’s Movement (APM).
The parties made the endorsement at a press conference jointly organized at the Banquet Hall of the Lagos Airport Hotel, Ikeja on Thursday.
“We, the registered political parties decided to endorse the candidature of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Kashim Shettima for the following reasons: Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a man that believes in true federalism. Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a preacher of State Police which will bring peace and tranquility in the country and also combat insecurity in the land. Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu believes in equity and justice. Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a man that believes in one Nigeria. We know too well that when Asiwaju is the president of Nigeria, the economy of the nation will grow which will lead to economic growth and development.
“We have collectively agreed to endorse and support Senator Bola Hamed Tinubu as president, for the good of the nation, Nigeria,” the parties announced.
According to the State Chairperson of NRM, Mrs. Temilola Esther Akinade, the endorsement was informed by Tinubu’s impressive track record in the political sphere and the national rejuvenation his Renewed Hope agenda promises.
Akinalade added that the parties will complement the endorsement with actions by seeing to the success of Tinubu at the polls.
“This endorsement is an acknowledgment of the good work Tinubu has painstakingly done in Lagos and our belief that he will replicate the same at the national level. We are not stopping here, our entire structure across the state will work assiduously for Tinubu’s victory. Prior to this time, we’ve been rooting for his victory as we have been mobilising people, what we did today was just to come out for people to know that we are working for Tinubu. When he emerges, the security will be stable in the country. Look at Lagos state you can not see any crisis in Lagos State like when Boko Haram is disturbing other states, that has never happened in Lagos became the security situation in Lagos is so stable and we believe that it is going to affect the nation if Bola Ahmed Tinubu emerges,” she said.
She went on to call on electorate to come out en masse to vote for Tinubu.
Also, the chairpersons of APP and APM Mrs. Adeyemi Abiola and Bunmi Adeyemi said the endorsement had become necessary for the growth and progress of the country as they noted that the structure of their parties in Lagos State will be working for Tinubu’s anticipated success at the polls.
“We are here today to endorse the candidature of Asiwaju Bola and Kashim Shettima for presidency and the candidate of my party, out of ten House of Representatives candidates, nine endorsed Tinubu while one from Amuwo Odofin is standing alone but going into Saturday’s election we are throwing our weight for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” said, the State Chairman of ZLP, Hon. Adenipebi Mode.
