With Chrisland School in the news for another wrong and disturbing reason, the Lagos State Government has directed the immediate closure of the school’s annex located in Opebi-Ikeja, in light of the reported death of a 12-year-old student of the School, Whitney Adeyemi.

The State Commissioner for Education issued the order in a statement made available to Theliberationnews on Sunday.

She explained that the closure, though temporary, became necessary to allow for a comprehensive investigation into the unfortunate incident.

According to her, “On behalf of the State Ministry of Education, we commiserate with Mr and Mrs Adeyemi, parents of Whitney, over the death of their daughter.

“We also note the impact of this unfortunate event on family, friends and acquaintances of Whitney and call for calm as we assure that no effort will be spared in investigating the incident

”We pray for the repose of her soul.”

This will be the second time the top rated school will be in the media for the wrong reason in recent times. Recall that sometime in April last year, the school made headlines for the condemnable act of sexual activities by its students during the school’s travel to Dubai where it participated in the World School Games.
