Ayodele Fayose, former Governor of Ekiti State, has advised the veteran Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to concede defeat as the collation of Saturday’s presidential election is getting concluded.
Fayose whose state was won by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) appealed to Atiku to be gracious in defeat and take a break from politics by retiring to his usual haven; Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.
The Ekiti ex-Governor dished out the advice in a tweet he posted on his verified Twitter handle on Monday evening.
“Our candidate, H.E. Atiku Abubakar (aka ‘Atiku is coming’) should accept defeat in maturity and retire peacefully to Dubai. At this juncture, may I say good night and goodbye to all you represent,” the tweet read
As it is, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is yet to announce the winner of the election as collation is still ongoing.
With Atiku winning some states in some of the results released, he is trailing the candidate of the APC, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
