Former Assembly Members in Lagos State under the aegis of Lagos Legislative Forum have drummed support for the foremost presidential candidate in the country and respected National Leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the fast-approaching general elections.
The forum with a membership strength of over 100 seasoned legislators made this known in a meeting held over the weekend at Eko club Surulere as they affirmed their commitment to the success of the party’s gubernatorial candidate Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his running mate, Dr. Kadiri Hamzat, as well as the reelection of the incumbent House of Assembly speaker, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa among other candidates of the party.
The spokesman, Hon. Ahmed Ipoola Omisore, in a press statement made available to Theliberationnews, explained that the group’s decision was premised on Tinubu’s progressive and selfless leadership in Lagos over the years noting that they will explore all means to see to his victory at the poll as well we that of other candidates of the party.
Omisore who doubles as the Director of Political engagement and Legislative Matters of the party’s Independent Campaign Council (ICC) added that the group has been raising awareness about the collection of permanent voters card and also embarking on House-To-House campaign to galvanize support for the party’s candidates.
The meeting was hosted by Hon. Tajudeen Agoro and chaired by Rt.Hon Fasina, a one-time Deputy Speaker of the state House of Assembly who also affirmed that the group will stop at nothing, to see to the party’s success at the polls.
