As the Osun election Tribunal reconvenes today for the last time to deliver judgment on the petition filed by the All Progressives Congress (APC) against the State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola, Security has been beefed up in strategic locations in Osogbo capital.

APC and its candidate, the former governor Adegboyega Oyetola is disputing Adeleke’s victory during the 2022 Osun gubernatorial election on July 16th, 2022, alleging discrepancies in 749 polling units and certificate forgery.

Recall that the tribunal announced on Tuesday that it will deliver judgment on Friday (today) leading to anxiety from the two political parties and other quarters in the state.

As learnt by Theliberationnews there was heavy security presence in Osogbo capital of Osun as operatives of the police, Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), Amotekun and other security operative were deployed to man popular junctions and political offices.

Also, they were sighted at Ola-Iya junction, Oke-Fia, Old Garage, Lameko and many others. Also, armed policemen were deployed to Oyetola and Adeleke’s campaign offices, including the secretariats of Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) and All Progressives Congress(APC).

Security has also been beefed up around the court premises as patrol van numbering about six are stationed at the entrance of the court as operatives check and screen people entering the court premises.

The sitting of the Tribunal commenced at exactly 9:10 am for judgment.
