The leading candidate in Lagos West Senatorial District, Dr. Idiat Oluranti Adebule has reassured women and less privileged in the district of adequate attention when she emerges.
Adebule who is vying on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) gave the reassurance on Monday at a town hall meeting held at FESTAC Town.
She explained that the meeting was in continuation of her campaign activities in order to galvanize more support.
The former Lagos state deputy governor assured women she will work to improve their welfare, particularly widows, the aged, and traders
She also canvassed for the foremost presidential candidate in the country and respected national leader of the party Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and other party candidates.
Recalled that Thelberationnews reported that Adebule, in her campaign manifesto titled “My Pact With The People of Lagos West,” promised to “Initiate programmes that supports the vulnerable, economically disadvantaged, aged, physically challenged, widows and the unemployed to improve their well-being and health choices. Promote and support legislative interventions targeted at the youth, women and children to ameliorate their vulnerability as regards education, employment, entrepreneurship and socio-political engagement in the Nigerian project.”
Earlier, women in Amuwo-Odofin Local Government and Oriade Local Council Development Area (LCDA) showed support for her candidacy.
Chairmen of Amuwo-Odofin, and Oriade LCDA, Valentine Burahimo, and Ramotalai Akinlola-Hassan, said APC candidates will work for the people.
They urged the women present to vote for Asiwaju Tinubu as President, Sanwo-Olu as governor, and Dr. Adebule, among others
Chairman of Odi-Olowo LCDA, and Director General of Adebule Independent Campaign Group, Mr Rasak Ajala, informed the women that the choice of Adebule is deliberate because the party believes in women’s inclusion in governance.
