The Lagos State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has commended youths in the state for massively staging a solidarity walk for the foremost presidential candidate in the country and respected national leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, his running mate, Senator Kashim Shettima as well as the gubernatorial candidate of the party in the State Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

The commendation was contained in a press statement issued by the party’s spokesperson, Seye Oladejo made available to Theliberationnews .

The statement read in part, “The Lagos State chapter of All Progressives Congress acknowledges and hails youths in Lagos state for their massive turnout at the rally in support of our presidential candidate, Tinubu/Shettima and our governorship candidate, Sanwo-Olu/Hamzat towards the forthcoming national elections.

“The success of the rally is a clear statement and demonstration of the preference of our teeming youths as regards the choices before them.

The ruling party noted that the youths’ show of support underscores their understanding of the party’s manifestos, “It (the solidarity walk) underscores a clear understanding of the manifesto of our presidential candidate which is essentially a commitment to youth development, empowerment and a guarantee of a bright future under a progressive government.

“The support for Sanwo-Olu/Hamzat is a vote of confidence in a promising second term as a result of a highly successful first term of office.

“It’s noteworthy that the youths mobilized human and material resources towards the success of the rally to harness their collective strength towards a great cause.

“We also equally appreciate the contributions of the womenfolk, artisans, market men and women and other stakeholders towards our common lofty goals. We urge all and sundry to remain undaunted as we count down to elections that all permutations point to our victory.”

The walk which was organized by Tinubu’s son, Seyi Tinubu, kicked off from Maryland Bus/Stop with thousands of youths from the 57 Local Government Areas (LGAs) and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in the state marching through Ikeja before rounding it off at the vast field of the Police College, Ikeja.

The party chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi who graced the occasion commended the youths for decisively and confidently declaring their support for Tinubu as he reaffirmed that the former lagos governor is on course to harness the country’s fortune for the good of all.

Also, the Deputy Governor, Dr. Kadiri Obafemi Hamzat, his counterpart from Kogi State, Edward Onoja, the National Woman Leader of the party, Dr. Betta Edu among other party big wigs took turns to address the teeming youths.

Popular Fuji musicians, Wasiu Alabi Pasuma, Sule Alao (Atawewe), hip hop artists; Alexander Abolore (9ice), small doctor, as well as Nollywood stars were in attendance to thrill the youths.
