Defying the early morning downpours, vehicular and human movements in Lagos were at a standstill in the early hours of Sunday, as Musiliu Akinsanya, aka MC Oluomo, chairman of Lagos State Parks and Garages Management Committee led different groups on a 5-Million man walk-in support of the All Progressives Congress, APC and the nation’s foremost Presidential Candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu/Kashim Shettima, and Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu/Dr. Femi Hamzat’s anticipated victories in upcoming 2023 general polls.
The rally that was sponsored by MC Oluomo, recorded a large number of supporters that converged on Teslim Stadium and National Stadium, Surulere.
The carnival-like rally, also had in attendance Nollywood stars, led by Saidi Balogun, adorning different colours of insignia bearing Tinubu and Sanwo-Olu as well as popular Fuji Musicians, Wasiu Alabi Pasuma, Sule Alao Malaika and Atawewe who provided light musical performance.
Armed security personnel, led by Nigeria Police, Department of State Service, DSS, Lagos Neighborhood Safety Corps. LNSC, among others provided protection and security for residents and participants.
According to MC Oluomo, the decision to hold the rally as earlier scheduled was backed with the approval of APC chieftains and stakeholders in the state.
The rally, tagged, “Mother of all Rallies,” kicked off from Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere Local Government Area of the state en route Funsho Wiliams Avenue and terminated at Bolade Oshodi area of Lagos State.
In the words of MC Oluomo, “This is a mega rally, we are shutting Lagos down for Asiwaju Tinubu and Sanwo-Olu.
“This is to show our support, strength and capacity for APC candidates because they are the best for the job at hand.”
