Neymar is the Brazilian national team’s leading player and the man Ronaldo Nazario is relying on to help the ‘Canarinha’ win the coveted WC title at the upcoming World Cup in Qatar. The former Brazilian player praised the PSG striker, who he described as decisive for a Brazil side he considers “favourites” for the trophy.
Ronaldo Nazario made some comments at a promotional event in Sao Paulo about the upcoming World Cup in Qatar, an international tournament in which the Brazilian national team has been drawn in Group G alongside Serbia, Switzerland and Cameroon.
The ‘Brazilian’ legend did not hesitate to point to the ‘Canarinha’ as favourites for the title, especially if Neymar arrives fit enough to lead the team on the pitch: “Brazil will be favourites in any competition. Because of the talent we have. This World Cup will be no different. But if Neymar is 100 per cent physically and focused, we have a good chance of winning the title in this World Cup.
“That’s why we are cheering so much for Neymar to stay on the pitch, to get to Qatar and unite the Brazilian people. Maybe this football has the strength to unite the Brazilian people to celebrate something. We have a great team, great players, but above all Neymar is very different technically and physically,” Ronaldo continued.
He added: “If Neymar arrives in good shape, he will make a difference. And our chances of winning the trophy will increase a lot. I think the Brazilian people have this impression, this desire, that he should be decisive. He has plenty of talent.
