Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, foremost presidential candidate in the country and national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) paid a scheduled consultative visit to the residence of former President Olusegun Obasanjo in Abeokuta, Ogun State meeting with old friends and foes.
Tinubu, who landed around 1pm within the premises of Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL), Oke Mosan, Abeokuta, in company with his team including the speaker of the House of Representatives; Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief Bisi Akande, Nuhu Ribadu met with Obasanjo as part of his ongoing consultations and fence-mending process to actualise his presidential bid.
He was received by Governor Dapo Abiodun, the deputy governor, Noimot Salako-Oyedele and former governors, Akinrogun Olusegun Osoba, Otunba Gbenga Daniel and other APC bigwigs that were already on the ground.
The former Lagos State governor immediately went straight into a closed door meeting with Obasanjo at the former president’s penthouse residence within the OOPL.
The APC presidential candidate’s supporters had earlier thronged Obasanjo’s residence, turning it into a campaign arena of some sort.
It was gathered that this is the third Tinubu would be visiting Ogun over his presidential bid.
In February, he met all the paramount rulers in the state.
On June 2, Tinubu, ahead of the party’s presidential primary, met with the APC delegates in Abeokuta, where he revealed the roles he played in enthroning President Buhari in 2015.
Tinubu’s last visit to Obasanjo that he described as a navigator was in 2013 when he went with other leaders to sell incumbent President Mohammadu Buhari’s aspiration to rule to him.
Theliberationnews reliably gathered that the APC candidate may seize opportunity of the visit to address the internal crisis within the ranks of the ruling party in the state.
