Former Stoke City and Sunderland midfielder Dean Whitehead has joined Besiktas’ coaching staff.
Port Vale have confirmed first-team coach Dean Whitehead has left to join Besiktas.
Whitehead had been on Vale’s coaching staff since 2021, but has described the move as an opportunity he “couldn’t turn down”.
The move to the Turkish giants will see him reunite with Adam Murray – himself once on Port Vale’s staff – who currently serves as number two to manager Valerien Ismael after the pair previously worked together at Barnsley.
