Brian Carey has rejected an approach from Everton.
According to Football Insider, Carey turned down the opportunity to head up Everton’s recruitment team after leaving Tottenham.
The 54-year-old held a similar role for six years at the North London club, but left in May.
An offer was made to Carey by Everton, working under the Blues’ new director of football Kevin Thelwell but he turned it down and has instead become Reading’s new director of recruitment, in a deal announced on May 19.
