The former Senate President, David Mark, has been chosen by the Peoples Democratic Party to be the chairman of the presidential screening committee for 2023 presidential election.

Other members of the presidential screening committee include Mr. Celestine Omehia, Chief Mike Ahamba SAN, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, Mr. Edward Ashiekaa, Mrs Hilda Makonto SAN, Dr. Akilu Indabawa, Hajiya Hassan Dikko, Dame Dr. Esther Uduehi (Secretary) and Mrs Chinedu Nwachukwu (Administrative Secretary)

In a detailed schedule released from the party’s secretariat, and signed by the National Organising Secretary, Hon. Umar M. Bature, the party outlined state assemblies, national assembly and governorship screening committees and screening appeal panels for all positions, noting that the party chairman, Senator Iyorchia Ayu, will head the presidential screening appeal panel, which comprises members of the National Working Committee (NWC) and six BoT members.

The timetable stated as follows:

“In line with the PDP 2022 Guidelines for party primaries, the National Working Committee (NWC) of our great party, the PDP, has appointed the following party members to screen all aspirants for State Houses of Assembly, National Assembly, Governorship and Presidential Elections.”
