The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, paid a visit to Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara at the Government House, Port Harcourt on Wednesday.

The Pastor who went bearing a special gift to the governor led a prayer session, beseeching God for his continued blessings and protection for Governor Fubara, his family, and the administration of Rivers State.

The revered cleric was accompanied by a delegation comprising senior pastors and prominent church leaders, while the governor had Dr. Tammy Danagogo, Secretary to the State Government, among his entourage.

The visit to Rivers by Adeboye is come few hours after President Bola Tinubu has urged the people of Ogoniland to embrace reconciliation and unity as he reiterated his administration’s commitment to fostering peace, justice, and sustainable development in the region.

Tinubu made the call on Tuesday during a crucial meeting at the State House with Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, former Governor Nyesom Wike, and other Ogoni leaders. The discussions centered on addressing long-standing grievances and creating a path forward for environmental restoration and socio-economic progress.

“We cannot rewrite history, but we can correct the anomalies of the past,” Tinubu stated, emphasizing the need for healing. “We cannot heal the wounds if we continue to be angry. We must build mutual trust, return home, consult broadly, and embrace one another. This trip must be worthwhile by bringing peace, development, and a clean environment back to Ogoniland.”
