The Lagos State House of Assembly has sent words of comfort to the lawmaker representing Badagry II, Hon. David Setonji on the loss of his wife.

The house, through a condolence message issued by the chairman House Committee on Information and Strategy, Hon. (Otunba) Stephen Ogundipe described the deceased as a dutiful woman with admirable virtues.

“With total submission to the will of God Almighty and on behalf of our leader and mentor Rt Hon (Dr) Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa Mr Speaker, we commiserate with Hon. David Setonji (Badagry 02) The Deputy Chief Whip of the House on the demise of his beloved wife Mrs. Adenike David, whose sad event happened on Thursday 24th May, 2024.

“Late Mrs David was a committed and dedicated member of Lagos State House of Assembly Wives Association. She was a respected and leading voice in the association. Her leadership qualities and women development advocacy are well recognized,” the statement read in part.

Praying for the repose of the deceased and the mental strength for the family to come to terms with the irreparable loss, the legislative arm sad: “We urge our dear colleague and family to take heart as the Lord giveth and taketh. We pray God in His infinite mercy grant the family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.

“May God forgive her sins, rest her soul and grant her eternal peace. Amen!”
