The leadership of National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) Odi-Olowo Ojuwoye Local Chapter, on Monday, joined the council chairman, Hon. Rasaq Ajala as he met with Master Raphael Ilerioluwa Mulero, the whizkid who had one of the best scores in the recently conducted Unified Tertiary Education Examination (UTME).

Raphael, a student of Ilupeju Senior Grammar School, Ilupeju who is known for his exceptional academic understanding amongst his contemporaries and teachers came just 49 marks short of 400 in the UTME examination.

He amassed 351 out of the possible 400.

The council chairman, Hon. Rasaq Ajala when he hosted the budding scholar in his palatial office on Monday, commended Raphael for his exceptional traits as he described him as yet another ambassador from Mushin.

According to him, Raphael’s success has lent credence to the quality education public schools offer as he added that his success has further justified the state government’s investment in the educational sector.

The council honcho went on to announce the purchase of a laptop worth the sum N500, 000.00 (five hundred thousand naira) to support Raphael’s educational pursuit and another half a million to be shared among his mother, his mentor, parent forum, and the principal of the school.

On his part, the Coordinator of Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye NYCN, Comrade Adigun Ibrahim hailed Raphael for his heroic deed as he also commended the council boss for deeming it fit to celebrate him.

His words: “One thing is to be exceptional another thing is to be commended and encouraged to fire on. While we hail Raphael for making us proud we want to heartily commend our council chairman for celebrating him.

“I am sure the chairman’s words of encouragement and financial support will spur Raphael to not relent on his oars and be the best he can be. We are proud to celebrate him today and we look forward to celebrating again in the future.

Also, the Vice Chairman of NYCN, Comrade Ademosu Jamiu applauded Raphael as he also hail his parents, mentor and teachers.

He said Raphael’s success is a reward of hard work and he urged him and those who were instrumental to the success not to feel complacent as he stressed that the reward of hard work is more work.
