The Federal Government of Nigeria has begun evacuating Nigerian students studying in Sudan.

Like Nigeria, other foreign countries have also evacuated their nationals from the war-torn country as deadly fighting raged between forces loyal to two rival generals.

Recall, the Nigerian government announced that it will on Wednesday commence the evacuation of about 5,500 Nigerians, including students stranded in Khartoum and other cities in Sudan.

Walking the talk, the government released N150m for hiring 40 buses to convey its desperate citizens from Sudan to Cairo in Egypt.

Some buses arrived and the students are getting ready to be evacuated.
