Without equivocation, the New Nigeria Peoples Party(NNPP), has confirmed itself as the party of choice in Kano state. The party in the March 18,2023 gubernatorial election defeated the ruling All Progressives Party (APC) in the state.

And on Saturday at the completion of voting during the supplementary elections, the party came out top.
This occurred as the Independent National ElectoralCommission(INEC) has declared the NNPP candidates as winners of two more state assembly seats in Kano State.

The party won in Garko and Wudil Constituencies supplementary election.

The Returning Officer for the election in Wudil, Prof. Surajo Mahmud Umar, declared Abdullahi Wudil, Manager of the NNPP, as the winner after polling 21,766 votes against his closest rival and APC candidate, Abdullahi Achika, who scored 20,806 votes.

In a similar development, Barrister M.B. Shehu, candidate of the NNPP has been declared winner of the Fagge Federal House of Representatives of Kano state.

Shehu unseated the incumbent House of Representatives member of the constituency, Aminu Sulaiman Goro of the APC currently serving his 3rd term in the Green Chamber.

Professor Ibrahim Tajo Suraj, the Returning Officersaid MB Shehu polled 19, 024 votes of the total votes cast while the candidate of the Labour Party, Shuaibu Abubakar polled 12, 789 votes. From the declared results, Aminu Sulaiman Goro of APC came third with 8, 669 votes.

Tajo Suraj announced: “That Barrister MB. Shehu of the NNPP, having satisfied the requirements of the law and scored the highest number of votes is declared winner of the election.”
