Ghanian Footballer and former Chelsea Star, Christian Atsu have been found dead after eleven days of being trapped under rumble as a result of the devastating earthquake that rocked Turkey and Syria.

The news of his death was confirmed by his agent in Turkey, Murat Uzunmehmet.

Atsu, 31, was a former player at Chelsea, Málaga and Newcastle United.

After a frantic search since the day the earthquake struck, his body was found among the rubble left by the earthquake.

“Christian Atsu was found and had unfortunately passed away,” Uzunmehmet said in a terse statement on social media.

The disappearance of Atsu, who had been a member of the Turkish club Hatayspor, had sent shockwaves to the sports world.

Turkey was on high alert over the news of Atsu’s disappearance.

A few days ago some information said that his body had been found alive, but they were later denied by those responsible at his club.
