The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced that a new visa policy has been put in place to allow Nigerians in foreign countries to travel home with their foreign passports.

This was made known by the Minister of Interior, Eng. Rauf Aregbesola via a tweet on Friday, November 11, 2022.

The minister added that with the new policy, Nigerians with dual citizenship would no longer require visas to visit Nigeria if they decided to travel home with their foreign passports.

“The NVP 2020 is a special visa for Nigerians in (the) Diaspora who either, by birth or marriage, have assumed dual citizenship. Such people will now be able to make use of the passports of their adopted countries to visit Nigeria without the need for short stay visa.”, he stated as he rolled out 12 achievements of his Ministry in the last 12 months.

He disclosed that Nigeria has also commenced the Visa on arrival policy for holders of passports from African countries.
