Dr Kayode Fayemi has bowed out of office after completing his four-year tenure as the governor of Ekiti State.

Fayemi was first elected in 2010 but lost his reelection bid in 2014, after which President Muhammadu Buhari gave him a ministerial position a year later.

However, he resigned in 2018 to contest the governorship seat, which he won and ended his tenure earlier on Sunday.

Mr. Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, who succeeded Fayemi was inaugurated at the Ekiti Parapo Pavilion, Ado Ekiti, on Sunday.

The inauguration was witnesseed by the foremost presidential candidate in the country and national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola AhmedTinubu; Governors Godwin Obaseki (Edo), Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), Abubakar Badaru (Jigawa), among others.

Ministers, senators, diplomats, traditional rulers and other dignitaries were also in attendance as well Eliti residents in their hundreds.
