The Federal Government has been knocked by netizens for its order to vice-chancellors to reopen schools and allow students resume lectures.
As reported by Theliberationnews, the FG, through the National Universities Commission, ordered the resumption of lectures amid the seven-month ongoing strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities.
However, the order has caused flurry of condemnations among tweeps, who picked faults in FG’s directive and decried the ongoing clash between the union and the Muhammadu Buhari-led regime.
Seun Ransom Kuti with the Twitter handle @djmagicsongs said: “Orders them to reopen varsities and resume lectures Without being paid salaries and arrears for months Not to talk of reneging on agreement made since 2019
Smh.”
Another tweep, Miz Cazorla said: “Las Las, Buhari will have to drag these lecturers from their homes with force to the classroom 😂. I don’t understand, it is the FG that took the matter to the industrial court when negotiations were still ongoing, now ASUU is appealing the case, FG wants to use force. Kolewerk😂”
“This government is so useless! Utterly useless!! Is it VCs that would lecture the students?, said @megafebian
