Beninise singer Angelique Kidjo won her fifth Grammy on Sunday night as her album ‘Mother Nature’ wins the Best Global Music Album at the 2022 GRAMMYs.

Femi Kuti And Made Kuti’s Legacy +, and WizKid’s Made In Lagos: Deluxe Edition, Rocky Dawuni’s Voice Of Bunbon, Vol. 1, Daniel Ho & Friends’ East West Players Presents: Daniel Ho & Friends Live In Concert, were also nominated in the Best Global Music Album category won by Kidjo.

In her speech, Kidjo first highlighted African singers who collaborated with her on Mother Nature — including Yemi Alade, Burna Boy, Mr Eazi, and Shungudzo.

She said they “are going to take the world by storm.” After thanking the fans who listened “when we needed you,” she closed with a powerful statement: “We are all Africans.”
