The Association of Optometrists in Public Health Centres in Nigeria (AOPHCN), Lagos State Chapter has elected new leadership to oversee its affairs for the next four years.
The election was held on Wednesday, 12th March 2026 at AFRIBI Event Centre, Ikeja, Lagos, where Dr. Francisca Seyi-Fagbemi emerged as State Chairman following a transparent electoral process.
AOPHCN is an affiliate body of the Nigerian Optometric Association, committed to promoting professional excellence and improved eye care services within public health institutions across the country.
Overseeing the election process, the National President of the Association, Dr. Emere Kingsley, charged the newly elected executives to justify the confidence reposed in them by their colleagues and work diligently to move the association to greater heights.
He urged them to remain united in advancing the goals of the association, which are anchored on qualitative service delivery to the public and the welfare of its members across the state.
In her remarks, the newly elected chairman, Dr. Francisca Seyi-Fagbemi, on behalf of the new leadership, promised to deliver on their administrative responsibilities and further solidify the status of the Lagos State chapter as a model for other states to emulate.
She called for the continuous support and cooperation of all members and stakeholders to make the new administration impactful, while pledging to prioritize professional development, improved collaboration among members, and the strengthening of eye care services within public health facilities in Lagos State.
Other executives elected to serve in the new leadership include: Vice Chairman, Dr. Okoh Joshua; Secretary, Dr. Achuzia Raphael; Assistant Secretary, Dr. Ukurebor Solomon; Financial Secretary, Dr. Seun Shittu; Treasurer, Dr. Obadigie Josephine; and Public Relations Officer, Dr. Joseph Odede.
