In acknowledgment of his immense support and remarkable fatherly role toward young people in Isolo, HRM Oba Isa Abiodun Faronbi-Shekoni, the Osolo of Isolo Kingdom, has been decorated as the Grand Royal Patron of Youth by the leadership of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Isolo Local Branch.
The decoration took place recently when the youth umbrella body, led by its Coordinator, Damilola Kushimo, paid homage to revered monarch at the royal palace.
Kushimo explained that the honour was bestowed in recognition and appreciation of Osolo’s unwavering support for youth activities and his exemplary leadership since ascending the exalted stool about a year ago.
The youth leader further commended the monarch for his consistent backing of youth-focused initiatives and programmes aimed at promoting leadership development, education, entrepreneurship, and civic responsibility among young people in Isolo, stressing that the youth body is proud to decorate him as the Grand Royal Patron of Youth.
In his remarks, the Osolo appreciated the gesture by the youth body, describing the new title as a call to do even more for young people in the kingdom. He emphasized that youths remain the backbone of any progressive society, noting that no effort is too much when it comes to supporting their aspirations and ensuring that their energy is channelled into productive and positive ventures.
The monarch also charged the youth umbrella body to live up to expectations by remaining focused, disciplined, and purposeful, while taking advantage of opportunities that will enhance their knowledge, skills, and leadership potential.
Osolo further urged the youth group to play a complementary role in guiding their members and peers away from illegal activities and other forms of criminality capable of bringing the community into disrepute or jeopardizing the peace it currently enjoys.
The monarch concluded by reaffirming his unwavering commitment to the growth and empowerment of young people, assuring that youths in the community will continue to receive the necessary support to achieve their full potential.
