The Lagos State government has announced a night traffic diversion at Fadeyi inward Donmanlong and Donmanlong inward Ojuelegba for the installation of truck barriers.
The commissioner for transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, said in a statement on Friday that the diversion would be between Saturday, January 10, by 10:00 p.m. and Sunday, January 11, by 6:00 a.m.
“Consequently, motorists are advised to use the highlighted route during the nighttime installation of the barriers.
“Motorists from Fadeyi Donmanlong Bridge/Ayilara inbound to Ojuelegba are to make use of the service lane from Fadeyi/Jibowu/Empire/Donmanlong to link Barracks to access their desired destinations,” he said.
Mr Osiyemi implored motorists to be patient at the installation area.
He said the brief nighttime closure of the bridge was part of a traffic management strategy to avert accidents and loss of lives.
He further urged motorists to stop vandalism and damage to truck barriers.
