A 53-year-old father, Samod Badmos has cried for safety after unrelenting cult members assaulted and threatened to take his life following repeatedly failed attempts to get a hold of his son, Basit Badmos.
Badmos while speaking with our correspondent recalled the several physical attacks he had had to endure from the hands of the unscrupulous elements whom he claim are hellbent in their search for his son to ultimately recruit him into their cult group.
Recall, Theliberationnews reported the 23 years old, Basit Badmos’ ordeal in the hands of the miscreants with the young man narrating how they subjected him to hell on earth for being obstinate against joining them.
The young Badmos explained how he became a person of interest to the cult members because he provided information about their heinous activities in Mushin area of Lagos State to the police.
“They wanted to force me into their group and also add my father to the list of those supporting them because he’s a strong politician,” Badmos told our correspondent.
“That’s when I knew my life was in danger. I changed my number immediately and went into hiding.”
According to the distraught father, the refusal of his son to succumb to the pressure of the cultists has made his entire family a target, leaving them to live in constant fear.
“I have been attacked on several occasions, threatened repeatedly and warned that I would pay dearly for shielding my son,” Badmos lamented.
“These people have vowed that if they cannot get him, they will get me. I am living in fear every day.”
He disclosed that strange faces now loiter around his residence at odd hours, while anonymous calls and messages have become a regular occurrence, all aimed at intimidating him into revealing his son’s whereabouts.
Badmos appealed passionately to the security agencies to urgently intervene.
“I am a law-abiding citizen. My son only chose to stand for what is right by refusing to join a criminal group and by cooperating with the police. As a matter of fact, I don’t know his precise location because he doesn’t seem to trust me with the information owing to the persiste threat to my life and this is the reason I’m making this public. I want Nigerians, the Nigerian police, anti-cultism officer and other relevant agencies to come to my aid. I’m in severe pains. I’m traumatized. This is too much for my and the rest of the family to deal with,” Badmos said sympathetically.
