The Labour Party gubernatorial candidate for Lagos State in the 2023 elections, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour has rubbished reports suggesting his imminent defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a post on his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, Rhodes-Vivour described the claim as unfounded as he reiterated his commitment to standing with the people.
He wrote: “The news making the rounds that I’m about joining the APC is false. I have no reason to join the gathering of the wicked or fellowship in the congregation of jesters. Just like I have done since the beginning of my political career, I stand firmly with the people who deserve better than what the APC has delivered over the last 24 years. #OurLagos.”
Also, in a short video attached to the post, Rhodes-Vivour set the record straight on rumors suggesting he intended to join the APC to throw his hat in the race of the senatorial seat in Lagos West. He described the report as completely false with no shred of truth as he emphasized his unwavering stance against the ruling party.
“At every point in time, I have never, ever even got into a potential discussion about joining the APC. It has never been even something that has crossed my mind,” he stated firmly.
