…pleads with Nigerians to exercise more patience
A prominent member of the Lagos State Governance Advisory Council (GAC), Otunba Henry Ajomale has appealed to Nigerians to sustain that belief in President Bola Tinubu assuring that the country will soon get better.
The elder statesman made the appeal over the weekend while addressing beneficiaries of his mega food palliative distribution exercise.
The event was organized as part of events to commemorate his 80th birthday.
At the event, no fewer than 2,000 households were supported with food items such as 5kg of rice and garri.
In his remarks, the former Lagos State Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) called for more support for President Bola Tinubu assuring that his economic reforms will make the nation great again.
Ajomale wondered what would have become of the nation if Tinubu had not been elected as he assured that there is light at the end of the tunnel.
“Only God knows how this country would have been if Tinubu hadn’t become the president. If we had continued on Buhari’s trajectory, only God knows what would have become of the country. Maybe there would have been civil war or something like that.
“We should be grateful to God that he brought Tinubu at the right time. I am not saying that there’s no suffering. In fact, we are all affected but without sacrifices and pains there won’t be gains and comfort. Tinubu is not a magician that will turn around Nigeria’s problem of more than 20 years in a blink of an eye. That’s why we are appealing for more patience from Nigerians.
“Today, we blame the president for everything because he is the head. We want him to solve the issues at once – issue of electricity, fuel, food security among others. The hardship is not peculiar to Nigeria, it’s a global phenomenon.
“Look at other countries of the world. There’s suffering everywhere. London is not what it used to be back then. A piece of banana is now being sold for $1, you know how much that is in Naira. Patience is what we should have. No pain no gain. We will soon be comfortable.
“I want to advise us to be more patient and I believe that by God’s grace we will enjoy the fruit of the land,” the elder statesman said.
