The National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO), a parastatal of the Federal Ministry of Art, Culture and the Creative Economy is set for the public unveiling of “DuduPlugs”, a cutting-edge digital platform developed to project Nigeria’s rich cultural tapestry to the world.

Executive Secretary of NICO, Otunba Biodun Ajiboye says the initiative which powered by ACITeksystem, a subsidiary of ACI Entertainment, aims to generate substantial revenue for the Nigerian economy with the potential of contributing up to $20 billion every year.

The unveiling of DuduPlugs which is expected to attract stakeholders from the arts, culture, and creative industries, as well as diplomats, policymakers, and members of the private sector, promises to be a celebration of Nigerian culture and creativity, showcasing the country’s rich heritage and potential for economic growth.

The pre-launch of the cultural digital platform which will provide comprehensive access to Nigerian culture via the internet and social media applications will be hosted by the Honourable Minister of Art, Culture and the Creative Economy, Barrister Hannatu Musa Musawa.

Other notable attendees include Sen. George Akume, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, as Chairman of the Occasion; Honourable Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, as Special Guest; Honourable Minister for Communications, Bosun Tijani to deliver the Keynote Address; Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo to deliver a Special Message while Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to the President, Bayo Onanuga, will be making a Goodwill Message.

The Senate Majority Leader, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele will be Special Guest of Honour while Senator Mohammed Ogoshi Onawo and Honourable Tajudeen Kareem, Senate and House Committee Chairmen on Art, Culture and the Creative Economy respectively are also expected to grace the occasion.

The event, billed to hold on Tuesday, 15th October 2024 at the Auditorium, Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC), 17 Aguiyi Ironsi Street, Maitama District, Abuja, FCT by 10:00 am will be streamed live.
