The Isale-Eko Descendants Union has heartily rejoiced with the Paramount ruler of Lagos; His Royal Majesty, Oba Rilwan Osuolale Akiolu on his 81st birthday celebration on Tuesday.
The group, in a congratulatory statement personally signed by its chairman and legal luminary, Adeniji Kazeem, SAN, hailed the revered monarch for his selfless and profound dedication to the continuous growth of Lagos.
The statement reads: “On behalf of The Trustees, Executive Committee, Elders and entire members of Isale-Eko Descendants Union kindly accept our congratulations on the occasion of your 81st birthday.
“Alaiyeluwa, your legacy is deeply interwoven with the history and identity of Lagos and your reign has been marked with wisdom, grace, and profound dedication to the well-being of your subjects.
“Your reign has witnessed the modernization efforts at the palace, which include the construction of a guest house, library, and the funding of the Iga Idunganran Health Centre, that provides subsidised healthcare services to the Isale Eko community, Lagos Island and Lagos State as a whole.
“You have been instrumental in securing employment opportunities for numerous Lagos indigenes within the Lagos State, the Federal Government, and private organizations.
“You are also at the forefront of the return of properties belonging to Lagos State, including the iconic Tafawa Balewa Square in Lagos, from the Federal Government.
“Your commitment to preserving our cultural heritage while also promoting progress and modernization is a testament to your visionary leadership.
“We wish your Royal Majesty, many more years of purposeful leadership as the Oba of Lagos, filled with good health and tranquillity.
“May your reign continue to be peaceful and prosperous in the years ahead.
