Olatunji Abdul-Lateef Bello’s appointment as Chief Executive Officer/Executive Vice Chairman of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Council (FCCPC) has been confirmed at Tuesday’s sitting of the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

President Bola Tinubu, GCFR , last month approved the appointment of Bello as the new FCCPC Boss to replace Babatunde Irukera.

Bello, an accomplished professional and diligent public administrator’s confirmation followed the consideration of a report submitted for ratification during plenary by Senator Suleiman Sadiq, Chairman, Senate Committee on Trade and Investment. Sadiq is the Senator representing Kwara North.

Bello has promised to raise the bar of consumer rights advocacy in the country. According to him, Nigerian consumers need to be conscious of their rights for any meaningful progress to take place.He has equally revealed his resolve to incorporate international best practices into the operation of FCCPC in the protection of consumer rights across the country.

Also confirmed alongside Bello by the Upper legislative chamber is Johnson Eseodion. He is to serve as the Director General of the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC).
