Peter Obi has condemned those making a mountain out of a molehill about the mild fall of President Bola Tinubu at today’s Democracy Day parade at Eagles Square, Abuja.

The Theliberationnews reported that the president while trying to climb the parade vehicle suffered a mild fall. The president quickly got back to his feet and carried on with the activities.

The clip of the incident soon went viral with many raising questions about the president’s well-being. Meanwhile, the special assistant to the president on social media, Olusegun Dada had in a post on his X account addressed the incident reiterating that the fall was a mild misstep and the president is fine.

Taking to his X page also, the presidential candidate of the Labor Party in the 2023 general election, Peter Obi condemned those who gloated about the incident noting that it could have happened to anyone.

He expressed sadness about the incident and wished the president well.

“I was saddened to learn of President Tinubu’s unfortunate fall today. I wish him well.

“We achieve nothing by gloating about an accident that could well happen to any of us. We are all human beings and, while we profoundly disagree on how to move Nigeria forward, we must remember our common human frailty. Let us stay focused on the issues that will lead to a new Nigeria.

“May this moment serve as a poignant reminder of our shared humanity and the need for compassion, empathy, and unity in our pursuit of a brighter future for our great nation”, Obi wrote.
