The Nigerian Deposit Insurance Corporation, (NDIC) has assured that deposited money by customers in the defunct Heritage Bank will be repaid within one month.

Consequently, the corporation has assured that there’s no need for panicking by the customers because the corporation is already in the process of refunding monies lodged with the bank.

Bello Hassan, Managing Director of the corporation, disclosed this at a press briefing where he outlined the processes of repayment, insisting that the corporation will not take 30 days as stipulated by law but settle customers within one week.

This is a big respite to restive customers of the defunct Heritage bank that have been on edge since when revocation of the bank’s license was announced by the Central Bank of Nigeria.

If achieved as assured by the henchman of NDIC, this will be a remarkable departure from the past when customers’ repayment remained elusive.
