After weeks of intense uproar from various quarters about the increment in electricity tariff, Ikeja Electric has slashed Band A tariff to N206 per unit from N225 per unit.

“Please be informed of the downward tariff review of our Band A feeders from N225/kwh to N206.80/kwh effective 6th May 2024 with guaranteed availability of 20-24hrs supply daily,” the Ikeja Electric said in a statement on Twitter.

It added, “The tariff for Bands B, C, D, and E remains unchanged.”

Recall that in April, the electricity distribution company increased the tariff for its Band A customers by 300 per cent from N68 per unit to N225 per unit, a move that drew widespread condemnation from Nigerians as they face unprecedented economic hardship.
