A new crisis has just erupted at the headquarters of the First African Church Mission Premier Cathedral as the Primate, Most Rev’d Sunday Matilukuro, on Sunday, disrupted the General Council’s election.
It was, however, understood that the Primate is nursing a tenure elongation agenda and intends to keep the current members of the General Council in Office.
Some concerned members of the FACM across the country expressed shock by this new development which is not only against the tradition of the Premier Cathedral but also against the constitution of the Mission.
It was gathered that the church has always conducted elections without external intervention until recently.
One of the members of the premier cathedral who craved anonymity made it known the members had resolved to fight the unconstitutional act and protect the sanctity of the church.
“We will take corrective measures to effectively and sustainably corrects this sad development, said the member.
