It is with deep appreciation to the Almighty God that we recognize the privilege we have been granted to witness this magnificent event. Last year, the administration of Hon. David Olusegun Odunmbaku inaugurated the Ojodu Carnival and made a promise to turn it into a recurring celebration, and today, we are glad that the promise is being fulfilled.
The essence of this carnival goes beyond mere entertainment. It serves as a unifying force, bringing together the members of our esteemed Council. Through this celebration, we aim to showcase our rich cultural heritage and values to the world. It is through events like these that we can keep our traditions alive and pass them down to future generations.
Furthermore, Ojodu Carnival is a platform that boosts our local economy. By positively projecting the brands and businesses within our LCDA, we create opportunities for growth and development. We recognize the importance of supporting our local entrepreneurs and creating an environment that fosters economic prosperity for all.
In addition to its economic significance, the carnival serves as a source of entertainment and stress relief for our people. We understand the challenges and pressures of daily life, and it is our duty to provide moments of joy and relaxation. The musical festival, which is a part of this year’s carnival, will undoubtedly bring laughter, happiness, and relief to the masses.
Today, I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the organizing committees and all the stakeholders involved in making this event a reality. Their relentless efforts and dedication have been evident as they worked tirelessly around the clock to ensure the success of this year’s edition. It is through their hard work and commitment that we are able to witness such a remarkable celebration.
Furthermore, it is important to note the exciting activities that have been lined up for our enjoyment. Today, we have aerobics and fitness sessions, a novelty match, the presentation of incentives to One Hundred (100) Nano traders, and the bazaar. However, the grand finale awaits us tomorrow, where we will witness a spectacular ward parade, a raffle draw, a carol performance, captivating cultural displays, and an unforgettable music festival.
