Rivers State Governor, Simi Fubara now has more worries than before about his fate as 27 of the 31 lawmakers of the Rivers State House of Assembly elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP formally defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC.

The lawmakers who are ardent followers of the former state governor and incumbent minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, FCT, Nyesom Wike, defected on Monday morning.

It was gatherer that their defection followed a meeting the lawmakers had in Abuja last weekend where the decision was taken to change camp from the PDP to the APC.
Consequently, the defection of the 27 lawmakers has heightened the political crisis in the south-south state with the governor summoning an emergency executive meeting.
