Weeks after pulling the Lazarus-stunt, popular rapper Oladipupo Oladimeji, widely known as Oladips, has tendered a sincere apology to Nigerians.
He explained that the death rumour was not a prank or a publicity stunt to promote his album as he was genuinely ill noting that his management had only acted based on assumption.
He, however, said he regretted the confusion it caused the general public.
He made the apology during a recent interview with Naija FM, Lagos, monitored by Theliberationnews.
His words: “To Nigerians and my loyal followers, I would never toy with people’s emotions. It was not a prank; I was genuinely unwell. I sincerely apologize for the confusion, the false alarm, and everything associated with it. I take full responsibility.”
He went on to share his determination to ensure a more professional support system, attributing the origin of the problem to the lack of professionalism in his circle.
Elaborating on his experiences, including financial mismanagement by his former manager and ill-wishing, Oladips acknowledged the need for a more discerning team.
He affirmed his determination to surround himself with qualified professionals, stating, “I’m just trying to select the right people and ensure they are professionals who know the right thing to do. I want to avoid situations where someone assumes I’m dead just because they haven’t heard from my mom.”
Acknowledging his accountability for the situation, Oladips concluded with a heartfelt plea for forgiveness, saying, “I’m really sorry. Please forgive me.”
