Theliberationnews reports that the Nigerian Law School has increased its tuition fee from around N296,000 to N476,000.
This represents almost a 200% increment to take the noble profession out of the reach of indigent families.
The increment was contained in a circular signed by the Law School’s Director-General, Isa Chiroma, and obtained on Thursday.
The astronomical increment has elicited outrage from Nigerians especially owing to the current economic hardship occasioned by multiple economic reforms by the federal government.
President Tinubu had announced an end to the decade-long fuel subsidy in May 2023, citing budgetary concerns. However, the policy has led to rising costs of goods and services, with many citizens struggling under abject poverty.
