First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu has congratulated the candidates of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Hope Uzodinma and Usman Ododo for their resounding victories in the just-concluded Imo and Kogi governorship elections, respectively.
Theliberationnews reported that the duo was declared winners of last saturday’s election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
While Ododo won with 446,237 votes to defeat his closest rival, Murtala Ajaka of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), who scored 259,052. While Dino Melaye of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) came third with 46,362 votes, In Imo, Uzodnma polled 540,308 votes to fend off competitions from his closest rival of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Samuel Anyanwu, who scored 71,503 votes and the Labour Party candidate, Athan Achonu, who came third with 64,081 votes.
In different statements issued by her spokesperson, Busola Kukoyi on Monday, Mrs Tinubu congratulated Governor Uzodimma, his wife and the people of Imo State on the outcome of last Saturday’s election.
The separate congratulatory messages read: “Her excellency, the First Lady of the federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON (@SenRemiTinubu) congratulates HE Hope Uzodimma (@Hope_Uzodimma1) and his wife HE Barr.
