The hope of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate for Lagos West District election, Segun Adewale to unseat the winner of the election, Senator Oluranti Adebule of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has finally been dashed as the Court of Appeal in Abuja upheld the latter’s victory.
In the judgment that was delivered on Friday, September 8 2023, the judges upheld the verdict of the National Assembly Tribunal in Lagos which authenticated Adebule’s victory in the February 25th election.
Recall, Theliberationnews reported that PDP and its candidate, Adewale had filed a petition at the Tribunal seeking to nullify the election of the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate.
The Tribunal however dismissed the petition ruling that PDP and its candidate abandoned the case.
Adewale and PDP not satisfied appealed against the ruling.
The Appeal Court on Friday, 8 September, 2023, thus dismissed thier appeal, upheld the ruling of the Tribunal and affirmed the election of Dr Adebule.
