Ahead of May 29 when the president-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, will be sworn in as the 16th President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria before the world, the presidential inauguration committee has unveiled the order of events.

The 10-day event will begin with a Valedictory Executive meeting of outgoing cabinet members on Thursday, 18th May and project commissioning between Friday, 19th till Tuesday, 23rd of May.

Novelty football Match and Variety Night will come up on Wednesday, 24th May followed by public lectures the following day.

Friday, 26th May will feature parade rehearsal and a night of praise while a pre-inauguration dinner and award night will come up on Saturday, 27th May. This will be followed by pre-inauguration and end-of-tenure Thanksgiving on the inauguration’s eve.

The main event which is the transition of power from President Muhammadu Buhari to Tinubu will come up on Monday, 29th May. It will be followed by Post inauguration Thanksgiving and Assembly proclamation on Sunday, 4th June and Monday, 5th June, respectively.
