The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Iyiorchia Ayu, has been suspended by the Executive Committee of the party in Igyorov Ward of Gboko Local Government Area of Benue State for alleged anti-party activities.

In the suspension letter obtained by Theliberationnews, the secretary of the party in Igyorov ward, Banger Dooyum, noted that Ayu’s anti-party activities led to PDP’s woeful loss in his ward and local government in the governorship election.

Ayu was also accused of not paying his annual dues as enshrined by the party’s constitution.

They also alleged that the PDP chieftain did not vote during the governorship and state assembly elections held on the 18th of March, 2023.

The ward executive added wmost of Ayu’s allies worked for the opposition All Progressive Congress (APC) which led to the abysmal performance of the PDP in Igyorov Ward. With this development, the internal cohesion of the party has suffered and the likelihood of sinking into further abyss looks unstoppable.
