Barely 24 hours after the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) released the newly redesigned naira notes for circulation, pictures have emerged of the unpleasant nature of the new notes.

The Central Bank Of Nigeria said that it spent N261 billion to print the aesthetically disastrous new notes and about N3.88billion budgeted to destroy the old notes….Hmmmmmm!!

In the pictures obtained by Theliberationnews, the redesigned N1,000 and N500 notes appeared in dull and unpleasant colours casting further doubt on the durability of the notes.

Although demands are still soaring high by desirous Nigerians wanting to possess the legal tender simply because the latter will cease to be a legal tender from end month of January.

So far, nothing points to the fact that the new naira notes are any way better than the old ones in terms of durability. The pictures above of the roughed and uncrispy naira notes bear eloquent testimony to this fact.
