The University of Lagos (UNILAG) quite clearly had shown that when it comes to issues of legal education in the country, it leads while other universities, public or privately owned ones, trail behind.

This much the institution confirmed with the superlative results of its law graduates at the recent Call to Bar ceremony of the Nigerian Law School in Abuja. At the Colourful event, a total of 25 law graduates of UNILAG made First Class at the 2022 Bar Part II exams and also had 85 of its students graduate with a second class upper division while 123 of its students made second class lower division.

With this outstanding results, UNILAG is currently the institution with foremost holders of First Class holders in the Bar finals for year 2022.

The Nigerian Law School called about 5,000 candidates to Bar in its September 2022 Bar Final Examinations. UNILAG’s Aroyewun Oluwamayowa Arafat, was named the third overall Best Graduating Student. She also got the third Best Student in Corporate Law Practice.

UNILAG enrolled 268 Law graduates at the six Nigerian Law Schools across the country in 2022. The institution dusted other universities including the University of Nigeria, Nsukka that had 14 Law graduates finishing with a first class; Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU, IIe-Ife that had 12 Law graduates finishing with first class, and University of Ilorin that had a total of 10 Law graduates finishing with first class honours.

For the next one year at least, UNILAG enjoys its its numero uno status as the leading legal education institution in the country.
