The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Godwin Emefiele has disclosed that President Muhammadu Buhari will, tomorrow, launch the new 200, 500 and 1000 naira notes.
The CBN Governor made this known during his press briefing at the monetary policy communique held today.
Emefiele added that there is no going back on the January 31st date of ensuring all old currencies lose their legal tender status.
He expressed his appreciation to Buhari for his support over the last seven and a half years and singled out the president’s support for the new naira policy which he has backed twice in comments to the media.
