The Northern Governors Forum has hailed outgoing Governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi, for a victorious tenure and a proof of success.
The Forum stated that Fayemi bore out many people-oriented projects that influenced the citizens of Ekiti State and put the state on the trail of advancement.
Chairman of the Forum and Governor of Plateau State, Simon Lalong, made the commendations through his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Makut Macham, on Sunday.
Lalong stated that Governor Fayemi discharged his duties with passion, commitment and excellence during his tenure.
He stated that he supported in ensuring a smooth changeover with the emergence of Biodun Oyebanji who he hopes will carry on with the building course Fayemi began.
Lalong stated that the former Chairman of the Governors Forum took the organisation to an advanced stage by mobilising and galvanising all governors irrespective of their party connections towards addressing the security, economic and political challenges of the country.
He recalled, “among other things how Governor Fayemi worked assiduously with his colleagues to collaborate with the Federal Government in tackling the impact of the coronavirus pandemic, global economic crisis, insurgency, and other national issues.
The chairman also commended Fayemi for also ensuring that state governments partner with development agencies towards addressing health, education, empowerment and energy challenges among others for the benefit of their citizens.
He noted “while wishing you well in your future endeavours, I assure you that the Northern Governors Forum will continue to leverage on your experience, wisdom and knowledge in working for the interest of its people and Nigerians at large.
