One sterling quality that any staunchest adversary cannot deny the foremost presidential candidate in the country and national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the highest esteem he holds the elderly, political and non political.
Asiwaju has an impressive track record of showing immense respects for the elderly and in all encounters, deals with them with the finest of regards and compassion.
This attribute could be an indication of his sheer adherence to God’s commandment about respect for our parents and elderly ones in Exodus 20: 12.
The latest of this commendable act came when Tinubu paid an unscheduled courtesy visit to Mrs Eunice Uzor Kalu, mother of former Abia state governor, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu on Sunday.
Tinubu was seen in a video that has gone viral on the social media, nearly prostrating, in typical Yoruba fashion of ‘omoluabi’ while greeting the elderly woman.
Recall that sometime in June, Theliberationnews reported Asiwaju’s unscheduled visitation to an unknown old woman that was later identified as Alhaja Shifau Ayinla in Ilorin, Kwara state.
Alhaja Ayinla became social media sensation when overnight the day of last APC Presidential primaries at the Eagles Square, Abuja, she was recorded while keeping spiritual vigil for the success of Tinubu at the primaries in her bed room. Her only request to almighty Allah was for Tinubu to triumph at the convention and later become president since she believes that to be the only way to stop the hardships currently being witnessed by Nigerians and consequently usher in prosperity for all.
Alhaja Ayinla was steadfast in her prayers and almighty Allah answered her prayers. It was an emotional scene to behold.
Till this moment, majority of Nigerians are still expressing delights and admiration that an aged woman can sacrifice her sleep praying for Tinubu to emerge winner of the last APC presidential primaries. To discerning Nigerians, this has struck a sensitively emotional chord in them. Majority of Nigerians are eagerly praying for his emergence as successor to President Mohammadu Buhari in upcoming 2023 elections.
The last stunt of prostrating for Kalu’s mother by Tinubu is equally generating positive reviews that have increased his rating in the public eyes. Madam Uzor Kalu could not believe her eyes regarding the humility that Tinubu, the anticipated incoming president displayed before her during the visit. Tinubu is obviously the man to beat in 2023 Presidential election as the Achilles hills of other contestants.
